ahem

the first snag: i cut out all these pattern pieces (except the decorative pockets) from the see-through paper, and having finished 10 out of the 12 pieces, i thought suddenly that maybe i wasn't cutting the right size. i cut out the 104, but now i think about it, she might be a 110 or maybe even a 116 (with the shop-bought clothes, it depends on the brand), so i was wondering about maybe the wisdom of making a prototype in a lighter (even cheaper) fabric so that i can a) adjust the size if necessary, and b) have an easier time with the machine the first time around until i understand the principles a bit better. good idea? bad idea? so-so idea?
